Kabanalan wishes to marry the most beautiful girl in his village, Marikita. In order to win her favor, she gives him an impossible task — build a path from her hut over the rice paddies to the main road before Sunday. Distraught, Kabanalan ventures to the forest to think. There he meets a supernatural stranger who claims he can help him with his task.
